Editing Flash Intros

May 30th, 2008 · 26 Comments

This is a list of step by step instructions showing you how to edit flash intros. Firstly, you need to download flashmo_091_intro.zip file as it is the sample file used here. Other free flash intros from flashmo.com also have similar structure like this one.

Extract the flashmo_091_intro.zip file. Open up the FLA file in Flash 8 or CS3 program and press F11 to see the library.

  1. Double click on welcome movie clip and edit the text “Welcome to flashmo.com” to your own text message or put a logo graphic or image.
  2. Like the first step, edit the text inside free flash templates movie clip.
  3. There are total 5 frames inside flashmo text movie clip which shows up one frame at a time in a loop when you run the SWF file. Edit each of them and replace with your own text.
  4. There are also total 5 frames for 5 different photos inside flashmo pic movie clip which shows up accordingly to flashmo text movie clip when you run preview SWF file. * You can put any number of photos by adding up more frames or deleting frames which you do not need. Keep in mind that total frames inside of both flashmo text and flashmo pic movie clips must be equal as they are linked on the root time line. *
    • Import your own photos (345×180 size) to the library.
    • Double click on flashmo pic movie clip in the library to replace with your photos.
    • Click on each photo, then press “Swap…” button in properties panel (ctrl+F3) at the bottom.
    • Select one of your photos in “Swap Bitmap” pop up window.
  5. Edit the text inside “music credit” movie clip like in the first step.
  6. If you do not need a replay button, select the frames (inside red rectangle as below), right click on them and click “Clear Frames”. You will also need to delete the actions line no. 1 to 4.
  7. If you wish to redirect to your web page when the intro is done, just remove double slash // and edit getURL(”your_page.html”);

Have fun playing with the intro. You may write a comment or suggestion if you have anything to say.

It’s cool. Though i don’t know well and not good in flash editing, i have been visiting your main flash site and know that most of your design and creation are supper cool compare to last year.

It’s a good step here you have this site again and hope people can learn more thru your site.

Keep up more info on how to create flash. It’s really useful as we can see step by step process. May be i will try one when i have spare time.

Hi! I love your intro templates. However, I’m not sure how to include this intro templates inside my main flash templates.

I’ll be using the flashmo_104_circular templates and i would like to include flashmo_27_intro.
And, also, i don’t know how to edit the intro template. Somehow, there’s no ‘welcome’ movie clip in flash_27_intro.

Hope to hear from you soon!

    Hi Nisa,

Here is a tip for you.

    1. Put an empty movie clip in a specific frame (which page you want the intro to appear) inside “flashmo contents” movie clip in circular template.
    2. Use loadMovie() function to load the intro SWF file.

For 027 intro, you may add it if you wish to.

    Hi admin.
I’ve downloaded the flashmo_020_black. When i tried to test movie, there’s a warning come out.

Warning: Duplicate label, flashmo scene, actions…

I guess there’s something wrong with the actionscript.
Can you check it for me?

    Thanks.

Hi I like intro number 084, and the minute I open it in Flash 8 instead of the first part being masked all I see is the Blue pic going across the pages as apposed to the wording with blue background?
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Because when I open it with Adobe, timeline online reflects 3 buttons in time line 1, so I cannot change anything

  • 18 Jer // Aug 20, 2008 at 4:35 am

    Hello,

I appreciate the flashmo_091_intro.zip file and all of the samples and tutorials made available. I have a question about the right-click menu drop down that appears. Current it states “Created by http://www.flashmo.com” which is fine because it’s good to give credit where credit is due. My question is how do you remove it? I’ve been up and down the source and can’t seem to find where it is hiding. Thank you!

Using intro #44. Am trying to delete two unused frames. Can’t find anything relating to these in the library other than the ‘text’ files which I deleted, but the words still come up “text 2 goes here” and “text 3 goes here” with empty picture frames floating above them. How do I delete these two slides?

Help? Fantastic info on the site, many thanks.
